Colonial Electric LLC has been a residential electrical contractor in the Capital Region since 2018. Panel and service upgrades, troubleshooting and repair, EV chargers and lighting, with a focus on safety, efficiency and long-term reliability. We also take commercial work: offices, restaurants and parking lot lighting.
Led by a U.S. Navy veteran, our company operates with a strong commitment to discipline, accountability, and consistent performance. As a veteran-owned business, we prioritize clear communication, dependable service, and high-quality workmanship on every project.
Whether you are planning a panel upgrade, adding an EV charger, or chasing a breaker that keeps tripping, you get a written price first and a technician who has time to finish the job.
We work in homes across Albany, Schenectady and Troy.
Albany, Schenectady and Saratoga counties, roughly a 40-mile radius of our shop on Central Avenue. Albany and Schenectady are our busiest cities and we are licensed in Troy as well. Further out is case by case; call and ask.
Yes, there is a flat fee for the evaluation visit, and we go over it with you on the phone before we schedule so there are no surprises. A technician comes to your house and spends about an hour looking at the problem you called about and the rest of the home, like a checkup at the doctor. Then we go over what we found, flagged red, yellow or green, from what needs fixing now to what can wait, with a price for anything you want done. If you hire us for the work, in most cases the evaluation fee is rolled into the job price. How our pricing works.
Yes. The price on the proposal is the price on the invoice, even when our own estimate was off. There are two honest exceptions: a second, separate fault we could not see, or work you add once we are there. Here is how the pricing promise works.
Homes are most of what we do. We also take commercial work like offices, restaurants and parking lot lighting. Describe the job when you call and we will tell you right away whether it is one for us.
Yes. New York licenses electricians city by city, not statewide, and we hold licenses in the municipalities we work in, with the insurance those cities require. Ask for a certificate of insurance and we will have it sent to you. How to check any electrician, including us.
Sometimes the same day, and we tell you on the phone rather than guess. We book one or two calls per technician per day on purpose, so when we arrive we have time to finish the job that visit. Safety & Savings Plan members get first call on the schedule.
